On Friday January 26th Guthrie’s opened their Meridian location.
Guthrie’s first opened in Alabama in 1965 – it now has locations in Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee. The Meridian location seems to be the farthest West that the chain has reached.
When I ate there on Friday when they opened I thought man this Guthrie’s Sauce tastes like Canes Sauce (from another chicken tender restaurant not in Idaho yet). I was corrected that Guthrie’s came before Raising Canes and that I was experiencing the sauce from the original creators.

The menu is simple Chicken Fingers and Fries in different amounts according to how much you want called boxes. Larger Boxes come with Coleslaw and Texas Toast. The offer coke products and Iced Tea Sweetened and Unsweetened.
The Chicken Fingers are tasty alone or even better in the Guthrie Sauce that comes with your meal. The Fries are Crinkle Cut like you would see at Del Taco but are much crispier. The Guthrie Sauce is amazing it is like Fry Sauce with a little bit of zip and zang. I am not a big fan of the Coleslaw but to be honest I don’t like Coleslaw that much so no big surprise there.
