Amazon is embracing a new sales tactic: Sell fewer items. The surge in delivery demand due to coronavirus stay-at-home measures has overwhelmed the e-commerce giant, so much that it’s begun removing “fixtures” that would have led customers to add more items to their carts, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing anonymous sources. In addition, it plans to cancel Mother’s Day and Father’s Day promotions that normally encourage spending.
